Jo'burg: not exactly a city for sissies. That's why the Kensington Cottages is the right place to be. Your hosts Peter van den Akker and Donald Nkuta will guarantee you not only a more than pleasant stay in the en suite cottages. They also assist you on your fact finding tours in a manic-depressive metropolis once aptly described as a place of violent swings from euphoria to despair. On these trips you can make use of 'sound walks, a travel guide in audio for on the spot information to be played on your IPod or MP-3 equipment.
 

Breakfast or just relaxing on the sunny terrace of the  Kensington Cottages. They consist of two self contained units with bedroom, sitting area, bathroom and kitchen unit.
The Kensington suburb, just over a hundred years old, has not shed its allure of laid back colonial cosyness in the shade of its abundant green. It is strategically situated., some fifteen minutes' drive from Johannesburg International Airport and close to the popular entertainment centres. 

The Kensington Cottages; the ideal place to enjoy the the hustling and bustling of an effervescent city. There is trendy Melville with a host of excellent restaurants. And passing over Johannesburg's new landmark the Nelson Mandela Bridge one finds the cultural precinct Newtown which has rejuvenated itself and where one can feel the heart beat of Africa in one of the many music venues which sprang up in this area. Not to be missed is a tour to Soweto with its historical spots and the adjacent Kliptown, the cradle of the ANC's Freedom Charter which paved the way for todays South Africa.
